Domain management as it should be.
Every domain registration includes the management tools you actually need. No upsells. No 'WHOIS Privacy Pro' tier. No artificial restrictions.
Full DNS management
Add A, AAAA, MX, TXT, CNAME, SRV, CAA records. Full control panel access. No 'premium DNS' upsell tier.
WHOIS privacy free
Your name and address hidden from public WHOIS lookups. Standard on every domain, no extra fee.
Domain lock
Domain transfer locking enabled by default to prevent unauthorised transfers.
Auto-renewal control
Toggle auto-renewal on or off any time. Email reminders 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry.
Email & URL forwarding
Forward mail or HTTP requests on your domain anywhere you want, included with every registration.
You own the domain
Domain is registered in your name with ICANN, not ours. If you ever want to leave, you take the domain with you.
Your domain. Always.
Some hosts use domain ownership as a lock-in mechanism — register the domain in their name, hold it hostage if you leave. That's not how this works at Unitas.
Registered in your name
Every domain we register is in your name at ICANN — not ours. Your name appears in the WHOIS record (with privacy on by default). You are the legal owner.
Transfer out any time
Want to move to another registrar? We support it. No transfer fees from our side. No 'release codes withheld' games. Standard ICANN transfer process, takes 5–7 days.
ICANN-accredited reseller
Unitas is an ICANN-accredited reseller via Namecheap. If Unitas disappeared tomorrow, your domain would continue to exist at Namecheap — your data, your records, your control.
Moving a domain to Unitas?
We accept transfers from any ICANN-accredited registrar. Standard process, no surprises.
Transfer Cost
+ 1 year renewal at the standard rate
Most registrars include one year of renewal in the transfer. That extra year is added on top of your current expiry — you don't lose time. A £10 .co.uk transfer + 1 year renewal is £19 total, and your domain expiry pushes forward 12 months. Cost varies for other TLDs.
Transfer Process
- 1Get your EPP transfer code from your current registrar (often called 'auth code' or 'transfer key')
- 2Send it to us along with the domain name — we initiate the transfer with Namecheap
- 3Confirm the transfer email from the registry (usually instant — but allow 5–7 days for the full ICANN process)
- 4Domain appears in your Unitas account once complete. Old expiry plus your renewal year is your new expiry.
Things people ask about domains.
Do I have to host my website with Unitas to register a domain?
No. Domains are sold standalone. We register the domain for you, set up DNS, and that's it — your website and email can be hosted anywhere. That said, if you're hosting with Unitas, having domains with us means one bill, one team, and DNS changes flow through the same support relationship.
Who actually owns the domain?
You do. Every domain is registered in your name (or your company's name) at ICANN, with us listed as the registrar contact. You're the legal owner — we just manage the registration on your behalf. If you ever want to leave, you take the domain with you. No hostage games.
Can I transfer a domain to Unitas later?
Yes. Transferring in is a standard ICANN process — £10 flat fee plus one year's renewal at the standard rate (for .co.uk domain, other TLDs costs vary). You don't lose time on the existing registration; the year you pay for is added on top of your current expiry. We accept transfers from any ICANN-accredited registrar.
What happens if I forget to renew?
We email you 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry, and again on the day. If a domain expires, most TLDs have a grace period of 30–45 days where you can still renew at the standard rate. After that there's a redemption period with higher fees, then full release back to the registry. We'll do everything we can to help you recover the domain, but ultimately renewal is the customer's responsibility.
Do you offer bulk pricing for multiple domains?
For 10+ domains we can negotiate bulk pricing. Talk to us. We're not a high-volume registrar, but for agencies or businesses managing multiple domains we'll work out fair pricing rather than the sticker rate per domain.

Transparent pricing. You own the domain. No hostage games on transfer.
